The Director, Sales EMEA & Home Entertainment is responsible for all Television and Digital rights exploitation of the Miramax catalogue through handling the day to day sales activity in the designated territories in the region to achieve set sales targets.  In this role, the Director provides sales reports on performance, provides forecasting information, and maintains excellent relationships with key contacts both externally and internally.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced individual within the media sales environment specifically and have experience in film and TV series exploitation including the contractual and rights procedures involved.  In addition, the Director will look after the sales process of new series for Home Entertainment.  Residents in Europe need only apply.

  • Set, update and achieve annual sales forecasts
  • Create pitch lists of programming for the respective markets
  • Negotiate License terms with TV or Digital clients
  • Obtain knowledge of commercial terms paid in the assigned territories whilst ensuring that Miramax is achieving the best commercial terms for its properties, thereby maximising revenue and profit for Miramax
  • Grow Miramax revenues from new market streams, with an emphasis on digital
  • Responsible for all aspects of contract negotiation. Oversee contract executives in preparation of sales contracts
  • Work with Finance team in the U.S. to ensure that cash is collected on time and on budget
  • Foster and maintain day to day relationships with respective TV and digital clients and identify where required, new customers for relevant products
  • Keep regular contact with licensees through correspondence, telephone calls, territory visits and attendance at markets. Attend and actively participate in the major markets, both local and international.  As required, and when agreed, to conduct sales visits to their designated territories
  • Obtain an on-going detailed knowledge of broadcaster’s schedules and competitor’s activities throughout assigned territories to develop an excellent knowledge of the media distribution landscape in territory
  • Identify market trends in terms of programming requirements, local content/quota regulations, censorship laws, audience preferences and local tastes
  • Establish and provide sales estimates on production
  • Liaison with Miramax’s HE licensees in Europe working with U.S. management, ensure U.S. and International Marketing activities are aligned, and other HE activities


  • Business Degree preferred
  • Significant in depth experience in a sales role, within a media sales environment.  Experience to include the contractual and rights procedures involved in media catalogue exploitation and production.
  • An understanding of the European television and production markets and a proven working knowledge of the territories.  Preferably with experience in sales of film as well as TV series and digital negotiation
  • Highly organised, able to meet strict deadlines and capable of working in a pressurised environment
  • Excellent communications skills, with a strong customer focus and confident manner
  • Able to exercise initiative and meet pre-set targets and budgets and proven marketing skills with library product
  • Interest in entertainment programming and production processes
  • Computer literate (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • European languages highly desirable
