SANTA MONICA, CA - May 26, 2011 - Miramax today announced that Lindsay Gardner and Bob Cook will serve as Strategic Advisors to the Company, reporting to Miramax CEO Mike Lang.  They will work with the Miramax management team, including Eric Doctorow (EVP, Worldwide Home Entertainment and Distribution) and Joe Patrick (SVP, Head of TV/Digital Sales) on a broad range of strategic initiatives including: digital distribution, domestic TV syndication and development of Miramax-branded cable networks.

"Bringing Lindsay and Bob on board is an exciting step as we continue to build the Miramax Team," said Lang.  "They are highly respected industry veterans as well as former colleagues of mine when we all worked closely together at Fox Entertainment.  In particular, Lindsay is a 25-year veteran of the international television industry with experience in both cable and new media.  He played a central role in our recent Netflix deal as Miramax's lead negotiator and point person."

Lang continued, "And Bob Cook is one of the industry's most respected TV sales executives, who has effectively monetized film and TV content to broadcast networks and local TV stations throughout his 30-plus-year career.  We welcome them both and look forward to drawing on their deep experience and long-standing relationships."

"Mike has assembled an exceptional team and established Miramax as the studio to watch," said Gardner.  "I am excited to advance the company's vision for Miramax-branded channels around the world and enhanced digital delivery such as our Netflix deal."

"I'm thrilled to be part of the new Miramax team," said Cook.  "Consumer demand and market challenges are constantly changing and Miramax is responding in innovative ways -- unlike any other studio I've seen in the business today.  It's an exciting, cutting-edge place to be, and I'm proud and reinvigorated to be part of it."

In addition to his role for Miramax, Gardner is a strategic advisor in private equity, where he has raised and deployed investment capital, and has led several digital media companies through critical growth stages.  Prior to this, Gardner was President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing at Fox Cable Networks, leading the launch and distribution efforts for more than 30 cable channels.  Previously, Gardner held positions at Atlanta-based Cox Communications, Inc. and New York-based Viewer's Choice (now iNDEMAND).  He has been cited on the "CableFAX 100" list of the most influential industry executives seven times, and was inducted into the Cable Pioneers Society.  Gardner holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Brandeis University.
