[NASDAQ: NFLX] and Miramax today announced a multi-year agreement under which Netflix members in the U.S. will be able to instantly watch some of the world’s most loved and acclaimed motion pictures from the Miramax film library.  It is the first time Miramax titles have become available through a digital subscription service.

SANTA MONICA, CA – Miramax today announced that Joe Patrick has been appointed Senior Vice President, Head of Domestic Television & Digital Sales, effective immediately. Patrick will be responsible for all Miramax domestic television sales to broadcast and cable networks as well as digital deals.

Under the agreement, Alliance has extended its distribution rights in all media in Canada. Included are such iconic films as Pulp Fiction, Shakespeare in Love, No Country for Old Men, Chicago and Good Will Hunting.

NEEDHAM, MA and SANTA MONICA, CA – Echo Bridge Entertainment, a leading worldwide distribution company, and Miramax announced today that they have entered into a domestic distribution deal. Under the long-term deal, Echo Bridge will distribute 251 titles from the distinguished Miramax film library via DVD and Blu-ray to retailers around the country utilizing Echo Bridge’s unique merchandising and distribution techniques.

NEW YORK and SANTA MONICA – FilmDistrict and Miramax today announced that FilmDistrict has acquired all U.S. rights to DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK and that a wide release has been scheduled for August 12. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro and Mark Johnson, the film stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison and Jack Thompson and marks the directorial debut of Troy Nixey.

SANTA MONICA, CA, VANCOUVER, BC and PARIS, FR – LIONSGATE® (NYSE: LGF), a leading diversified filmed entertainment studio, Studiocanal and Miramax announced today that they have entered into a worldwide home entertainment distribution deal. Under the long-term deal, Lionsgate and Studiocanal will distribute more than 550 titles from the renowned Miramax film library via DVD, Blu-ray, EST and Internet Video On Demand (VOD), in addition to cable VOD internationally.

NEW YORK, NY and SANTA MONICA, CA – The espionage thriller The Debt will be distributed for Miramax by Focus Features and Universal Pictures International (UPI). Focus will release The Debt in the U.S. nationwide on Wednesday, August 26th, and UPI will release the film internationally.

NEW YORK, NY and SANTA MONICA, CA – Tribeca Film and Miramax today announced they are teaming up on the U.S. release of Last Night, an intricately layered relationship drama starring Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet. Tribeca Film has acquired theatrical, VOD and select digital rights to Last Night and plans to release the film in Spring 2011 theatrically in multiple U.S. markets, including New York and Los Angeles, and also via national VOD outlets and on additional platforms.
