Let's just get it out there. We love Anna Faris. She's cute, kooky, hilarious and a fine actress.
She's had some amazing shining moments in her career. Her blissed out stoner chick in Greg Araki's Smiley Face, clueless Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie series, Ex-Playboy Bunny turned sorority mom in The House Bunny, and a tailspinning pop star in Just Friends. Now she's back with a new Chuck Lorre sitcom called Mom. Here's the synopsis from CBS:
Newly sober single mom Christy struggles to raise two children in a world full of temptations and pitfalls. Testing her sobriety is her formerly estranged mother (Allison Janney), now back in Christy's life and eager to share passive-aggressive insights into her daughter's many mistakes.
"It really touches on a lot of crazy issues," Faris told HitFix at Comic-Con "My character...had her kids when she was a teenager, and has had some hardships in life. And so I loved that idea that it was really a character with so much depth and so interesting. And the script was hysterical and dark. I remember saying 'Chuck, I can't believe that they're gonna put this on the air.'"
Mom premieres Monday September 23rd at 9:30/8:30c on CBS. Can't wait? Watch some clips of Anna Faris in Scary Movie below!
