Box office predictions are in: The Fault in Our Stars is set to be a breakout summer hit after its fantastic opening in theaters this weekend. This YA novel has done phenomenally well in print and the screen translation is getting excellent reviews. With the recent success of The Hunger Games and Divergent screen adaptations, authors and publishers are keenly aware that YA audiences are hungry for more stories that appeal to their demographic. Cue the new novel, COIN HEIST.
Adapted from the screenplay titled THE HOLE WITH THE MINT by William Osborne (Twins, The Scorpion King) bought by Miramax in 1998, COIN HEIST is a reimagining of Osborne’s story by author Elisa Ludwig (Pretty Sly, Pretty Crooked) for YA readers.
Like the aforementioned breakout hits, COIN HEIST has all of the elements of an exciting story that could very well translate to the big screen with much success. But don’t just take our word for it…
The last place you’d expect to find a team of criminals is at a prestigious Philadelphia prep school. But on a class trip to the U.S. Mint – which prints a million new coins every 30 minutes – an overlooked security flaw becomes far too tempting for a small group of students to ignore.
United by dire circumstances, these unlikely allies – the nerd, the slacker, the athlete, and the perfect student – band together to attempt the impossible: rob the U.S. Mint. This diverse crew is forced to confront their true beliefs about each other and themselves as they do the wrong thing for the right reasons.
Elisa Ludwig’s Coin Heist is a fun, suspenseful, and compelling thriller, told from the revolving perspectives of four teens, each with their own motive for committing a crime that will change all of their lives — if they can pull it off.
COIN HEIST hits shelves on June 10 but you can get a FREE DOWNLOAD HERE from June 7-June 9, 2014. Read it, talk about it, be the first to know about it before it becomes another breakout YA movie.
