This year marks the 15th anniversary of Good Will Hunting. To celebrate this milestone, we’re releasing a special edition of the film on Blu-ray, which will be available on August 21st. Until then, we’ll be publishing some of the most memorable clips and photos from Gus Van Sant’s seminal film.

In this scene, Will (Matt Damon) and Sean (Robin Williams) sit down for a chat on a park bench. There’s a definite sense of calm here, due in large part to Van Sant’s stylistic decisions. Rather than cut back and forth between the two characters, the director instead chooses to give us one long, continuous shot of Sean as he delivers his lecture. It’s an editorial decision that dovetails perfectly with Williams’ deliberate speech patterns, and one that adds even more weight to his words. In the matter of a few minutes and with only ambient noise as their soundtrack, Van Sant and his actors prove that even the calmest of scenes can be rife with drama.
