Shooting won't begin on Martin Scorsese's new film, The Wolf of Wall Street, until this August, but details about its cast have already started to emerge. The latest tidbit comes courtesy of Deadline, which reports today that Rob Reiner is in negotiations to join the movie, which already includes Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, and, of course, Leonardo DiCaprio, who previously worked with Scorsese on films like The Aviator and Gangs of New York. Reiner, who hasn't had an onscreen role since 2003, would reportedly play the role of "Max," DiCaprio's father in the movie.
The film itself will be based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort -- a former white collar criminal who ran afoul of the law when he became involved with a 1990s securities fraud case on Wall Street, and refused to cooperate with authorities. Belfort, not surprisingly, will be played by DiCaprio.
