Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight may not be on the big screen anytime soon but on April 19, a few hundred lucky fans will be able to hear the script play out on stage at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art produced by Film Independent. As if this news isn’t amazing enough – Tarantino himself will be casting and directing the read. Mind blown? Here’s the hardest bit to swallow – it is a one time deal and it will not be recorded so if you are not in the room – You. Are. Not. In. The. Room. Per Film Independent, “adding to the thrill: the cast is likely to remain secret until they appear on stage that night.”
The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, trapping a pitiless and mistrustful group, which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.
