Last month, The Weinstein Company released a cryptic teaser for Paul Thomas Anderson's new film, The Master. A few more details emerged this week, with the release of a stunningly beautiful theatrical trailer (embedded above). Much like the film's first teaser, this two-minute clip is girded with a tension that slowly crescendos with each shot, thanks in large part to the eerie music of Jonny Greenwood, as well as some stellar cinematography from Mihai Malaimare Jr. We also get a closer look at the film's leading cast members, including Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Joaquin Phoenix, who plays Freddie Sutton -- a "young drifter" who becomes the right-hand man of Hoffman's Lancaster Dodd.
The Master will be released in theaters on October 12th.
