Synopsis
A brilliant young doctor living in his wife's rural hometown, Martin Arrowsmith develops a cure to a fatal cow disease threatening the local cattle in his spare time. Reinvigorated by his discovery, he returns to medical research with his old mentor and sets out for the West Indies, where he thinks he can help cure an outbreak of the bubonic plague but gets more than he bargained for.
