Synopsis

Half-way through his 12-year prison sentence, Jimmy Hands is transferred to a prison from which he can probably escape. He convinces the warden to stage a musical next to the prison's outer wall. As he puts his escape plan into production, things become muddy when a nasty inmate John Toombes insists on joining the escape, and Jimmy develops feelings for Anabel, a social worker who agrees to appear in the play.
