CANNES, FRANCE – May 9, 2018: Miramax CEO Bill Block announced today a deal to finance Guy Ritchie’s new film, TOFF GUYS, where Ritchie will explore the collision between old money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex with new gang entrants swarming. Ritchie’s signature visual cocktail will be served with an abundance of fun. Ritchie will direct, produce and he wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson.

“Movies like SNATCH and LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS launched Guy’s career and opened up a new genre to audiences. We are thrilled to work with a master filmmaker in his element who is committed to delivering a super fun kick ass theatrical experience” said Miramax CEO, Bill Block.

"Teaming with the financing power of Miramax, along with Guy Ritchie, one of the most commercial and successful of UK directors couldn't be more exciting for Rocket Science." said Thorsten Schumacher MD of Rocket Science.

Guy Ritchie provides his signature hyper-real, high energy, and narratively intricate style to the piece, creating a universe full of distinctive, richly-observed, and unforgettable characters.

As one of the most accomplished filmmakers and versatile storytellers working today, Ritchie’s most recent films include the SHERLOCK HOLMES blockbusters, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., and Disney's upcoming live-action event adaptation of ALADDIN.

CEO Bill Block and Miramax Consultant Crystal Bourbeau initiated the sale with Thorsten Schumacher from Rocket. Bourbeau was recently EVP of International Sales and Distribution for Lionsgate where she was responsible for licensing and distribution initiatives.

The deal was negotiated by CAA Media Finance at Cannes where Miramax is in attendance.
