In 1996, Salma Hayek snake-danced her way into movie history in Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn. Now, 18 years later, the series based on the film has introduced us to a new Santanico Pandemonium played by Eiza González.

González took on the challenge of playing the strong, sexy Santanico, knowing she'd be compared to Hayek. In an interview with Ain't It Cool News, she talks about the iconic dance scene.

I did not prepare. I just went in there, and did what I thought was okay, and that's what he wanted. He didn't want it to be choreographed or anything pretentious, he just wanted it to flow naturally like Salma did. No one prepared it. There was no prep with the snake, nothing. We just went into it. And that's part of the coolness of the dance, it's just spontaneous and flowing, and that's what I preferred. Obviously, on my side, I prepared to be mentally very focused in my work, because obviously I didn't want the nervousness of everything overwhelm me when I was doing it. There was a lot going on, there was the snake, dancing with very few clothes, crew guys sitting in front of you, the whole cast, Robert trying to do such an iconic scene that is so known throughout the world. There was just too much going on in the scene that I just prepared myself mentally because there was no chance for second chances on that stage. You bring your A-game, and that's what I kept thinking, and that's how I prepared.
